James Inglis murdered Alice Morgan 50 who he battered and strangled at Eton Terrace, Cambridge Street, Hull on 1 February 1951.

Alice Morgan was a prostitute and James Inglis had argued with her over payment.

At his trial he said 'All I have to say is that I have had a fair trial and all i ask now is for you to get me hanged as quickly as possible.'

The execution of James Inglis was the fastest on record at only 7 seconds.
